Pure Distilling Crystal Clear

Description

Pure Distilling Crystal Clear is a wash clearing agent designed to remove unwanted yeast cells and suspended impurities from a fully fermented wash before distillation.

By helping clear the wash and release trapped gases, Crystal Clear prepares your fermented wash for the next stage of spirit making. As a result, fewer unwanted solids and yeast cells remain suspended in the wash when it is transferred for distillation.

Each pack treats one 25 litre fermentation.

Why Clear a Wash Before Distillation?

Once fermentation has finished, yeast cells and other suspended material can remain throughout the wash.

Allowing these unwanted solids to settle before transferring the wash helps reduce the amount carried into your boiler. In addition, clearing the wash helps release trapped gases before distillation.

This reduces the risk of excessive foaming during boiling and helps prevent unwanted off-flavours from carrying through into your finished spirit.

How to Use

Ensure fermentation has completely finished before adding Pure Distilling Crystal Clear.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the pack when adding the clearing agent. Then allow sufficient time for the unwanted yeast cells and suspended impurities to settle.

Once the wash has cleared, carefully transfer it while leaving the settled material behind. The cleared wash is then ready for the next stage of the distilling process.
